Homework: Homework is given out on a Wednesday and brought back in to school the following Monday. Children are given English, Maths and spelling homework. It is suggested that children spend 30 minutes on each piece of homework.
P.E days: Tuesday (outdoors) and Thursday (indoor games). It is suggested that children keep P.E. kit in school from Monday to Friday.
The topic in Year 6 draws on all of the previous experiences the children have had through the question 'How can we help our planet?'. The topic completes the unit on our relationship with the world and centres on personal growth. It is the aim of the project to allow the children to understand the concept of personal growth. Children will develop their knowledge and understanding of the following: • Will the world end one day? • How can we make the world a better place? • What will the world be like for our children? • How do our decisions affect our personal journeys? • How do your personal journeys affect our decisions? Our key text will be 'Where the World Ends'.
